Seven abandoned puppies. Five are still fighting.

Dear Woof & Willow Family,

A little over a week ago, seven tiny puppies were found abandoned in a box. They should have been worrying about toys, naps, and full bellies—not fighting for their lives.

We welcomed them into our rescue, immediately placed them in strict isolation, and began providing the care every puppy deserves. Then our worst fear became reality.

They tested positive for parvo.

Our veterinarians confirmed that they contracted the virus before they ever came into

our care. Despite catching it early and doing everything possible, parvo is relentless.

Since then, we have experienced heartbreak after heartbreak.

Two of the puppies have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. They were loved every single moment they were with us, and we made sure they never faced this disease alone. Their short lives mattered, and they will always be part of the Woof & Willow family.

Five puppies are still fighting.

Some are receiving intensive outpatient hospitalization, medications, fluids, around-the-clock monitoring, syringe feedings, and constant care. Every few hours brings another round of medications, cleaning, comforting, and hoping that they make it through the next one.

So far, more than $9,000 has already been spent on emergency veterinary care—and that number continues to grow.

As an entirely foster-based rescue, we never want finances to determine whether a puppy receives lifesaving treatment. We will continue saying "yes" to the care they need, but we can't do it alone.

This outbreak has also forced us to make an incredibly difficult decision. Our rescue is currently closed to all new intakes while we renovate, fully disinfect, and eliminate every possible risk before another vulnerable puppy enters our home. We simply cannot take that chance.
